How To Track Location History

Monitor Recent Tracker History With Playback

In this guide we'll show you how to play back the recent journeys and location history of your GPS tracker using the WhatGPS app. Tracking is available for selected models and, in most cases, offers history playback for up to 31 days.

Open The WhatGPS App

Opening the WhatGPS app will bring up your GPS tracker's map and details.

Click the grey line above your tracker's name and status to bring up the command icons at the bottom of the screen.

Click The 'Playback' Icon

Click the green 'Playback' icon to bring up the 'Playback/History' page.

Select Timeframe & Play

By default WhatGPS will load the most recent location history for your tracker, which is usually the last journey you used it on.

To select a different timeframe, such as monitoring the device's activity yesterday, select an option on the page (see light green arrow).

From this area, you can also select a customised timeframe, up to a maximum of 31 days.

Once you have selected your timeframe, click the blue 'Play' button to run a playback of your tracker history (see dark green arrow).

Set History Playback Speed

Whilst your history playback video is running you can adjust the playback speed by first clicking the '1X' button (see green arrow) then choosing an alternative speed.

By default, playback speeds are; 0.5X, 1X, 2X and 4X.

Check Points Of Interest

When your location history playback has finished, you can scroll the map to find 'Points Of Interest' typically where your tracker has stopped/started moving.

Click on any of these numbered points for more information, including location, start and end time.
